Rainbow Affirming

I work from a rainbow-affirming and gender-affirming perspective. To me, being affirming is more than just being ‘friendly’ or welcoming. It means actively celebrating who you are.

Here is what you can expect in our work together:

  • Your identity is respected. I will always use your correct name and pronouns. You get to define who you are, and that language is entirely up to you.
  • No need to teach me about the rainbow community. You don’t have to explain the basics of takatāpui, queer, or trans realities, minority stress, or intersectionality to me. I understand how systemic discrimination impacts mental well-being, and you won’t have to justify your lived experience here.
  • Our conversations will focus on what matters to you. Your identity is not a problem to be fixed. If you want to explore your gender or sexuality, we will do that at your pace. If you are here for something completely unrelated, we’ll focus on that, while your identity is simply respected.

Rainbow Young People

If you’re a queer, trans, or rainbow young person, you deserve a space where you are fully celebrated and accepted just as you are. No explaining yourself, no justifying your identity, and no walking on eggshells. Just a safe, warm corner to breathe, figure things out, and be completely yourself.
